I used to think that Costa Rica was not a "beach" destination, and I was wrong!  My first few trips were focused on the Volcanos, hiking, the wildlife and the beautiful rocky Pacific Coast.  I visited a few beaches on the Pacific Side, but truly found amazing beaches and a much slower pace on the Caribbean Coast.

This is a great itinerary that starts off with two nights at the base of the Arenal Volcano, one of my favorite stops on any itinerary.  Then transfer by land, and then boat, to Tortuguero National Park, home to some of the worlds best nesting and hatching of mulitple species of Sea Turtles.  The hotel we use here is the best in the area, and due to the remoteness of it, all the meals and activities are included.  Imerse yourself into the wild!

Next we head off to the south and the Caribbean Coast.  We have two great proprties here we work with for all types of travelers.  These are small boutique hotels with a style leaning towards wellness, relaxation, bohemian decor and a great place to reset your mind and body before heading back home.

Day by Day:

• Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport and transfer to the Arenal Region. Overnight at Tabacon Thermal Resort or Nayara Springs Spa.
• Day 2: Private Hanging Gardens Tour. Overnight.
• Day 3: Private land and boat transfer to Tortuguero.  Overnight at Manatus.
• Day 4: Partake in various tours and activities around the National Park.
• Day 5: Head to the Southern Caribean coast and three nights at either Aguas Claras or Le Cameleon.
• Day 6: Day at leisure to enjoy the beach and sea. Overnight.
• Day 7: Day at leisure to enjoy the beach and sea. Overnight.
• Day 8: Check out of the hotel and private transfer to San Jose International Airport for your return flight home.
